How do I lose weight without exercise?

Did you know that the body wants to release body fat? It’s screaming out to you that it doesn’t want to hang onto all that old yellow fat any longer.  Yes, the older the fat, the yellower it is!

Carrying extra body fat under the skin and around your vital organs is sub-optimal, and if given the reassurance that it’s safe to do so, your body just wants to shed it all. It desperately wants to release all of it. You don’t need to exercise to do that. In fact, exercising to lose weight is completely the WRONG approach.

“Controlling” your weight the wrong way, using exercise and diets can be an ongoing and often a losing battle. As humans, we shouldn’t have to fight or control anything to do with our health. Instead, we should just trust in our bodies and give it the ingredients it needs to just, well, do its thing. Our incredible bodies are so very capable of creating optimal health in every single one of our body systems. That’s it’s primary drive. To keep you alive and healthy!

After millions of years of evolution, our bodies know what to do. The problem of weight control came about by humans with our big brains over intellectualising the art of ‘being healthy’. We measure this, we weight that, we force something over there, we control something over here, meanwhile focusing on the wrong things and tie ourselves in knots trying to control the whole convoluted process. Exercise can be a big part of this complicated formula for many people. But it’s backwards.

Exercising to lose weight is a mistake. It’s putting the cart before the horse. When you exercise before your body is healthy, then you add strain to your whole system. Your joints are over-burdened. Metabolic issues like diabetes, cardiac conditions, hypertension (high blood pressure) and medications to neutralise these conditions can interfere with exercise and recovery. When your metabolism is underperforming, exercise can be futile. While there is plenty of evidence that light physical activity can help keep reduce the impact of these conditions on your long-term health, cleaning up what you eat, is a much faster and safer route to sustainable health outcomes.

The real key to losing weight is in what you put in your mouth. You can never out-train a bad diet.

Finally, if you are exercising for the wrong reasons (for instance, to get slimmer), you’ll simply hate it. Maybe not initially, but eventually. Especially if you have a mindset like you are sub-consciously punishing your body or yourself for being a little on the heavy side. It can be difficult and painful. Your joints will be trying to send you messages to stop. But instead, you go on… “no pain no gain, right!?”  No! Exercise should be thoroughly enjoyable. You should feel amazing in your skin when you move around. When you are your healthy body weight, your body wants to exercise. You find yourself running without even thinking about it! You’ll break into a jog when completely inadvertently. So, let’s get you healthy on the inside first before you introduce exercise.

I’ve exercised all of my life. I’m a martial artist, a triathlete and a personal trainer. And if I’m honest, while I have always enjoyed exercise, a big part of it was always to control my weight. That was before I found WILDFIT®.

When I completed the WILDFIT® 90 Day Challenge, when I had finally really hydrated and nourished my body, removed toxins and un-natural chemicals and irritants, my body just changed. I never let myself get hungry, so my body felt safe and satisfied. And all the fat just dropped away. Without exercise. If you are human, then its in your genetics too. Your body knows what to do, when you start being kind to yourself. Nourish first, then exercise gently when you feel like it.
